Solar Bee

Another collab, let’s go!! This one’s with our friends over at Lexmark. We’re coming at you with a honey blonde ale using honey from Lexmark’s “solar bees”. ⁣

In May of 2023, 5 beehives were placed within Lexmark’s 2 MW solar array consisting of 5,520 panels, across 8 acres of land.  The hives have been instrumental in local outreach and educational programs that teach not only the value of bees in our ecosystem but promote science, technology, engineering, and math.  With help from some dedicated volunteers since May of last year, their “solar bees” have produced over 270 pounds of honey, some of which we used in this delicious collaborative brew.⁣
